How to improve your communication skill this is the most search term by me because I search it so much when i was in class 10th so before moving to the main topic let me tell you something.
My Story
I am a very introvert person and recently i have taken a test where i have found out that i am a very logical and technical person which means I am hyper active person in work i can easily mind my own business, can stay whole week without talking or without any social interaction with people but not so long one day i met my friends and they all started to talk very nicely but I am a kind of person whose social skills is very negligible and sometimes I talk with people completely the opposite the way should i have.
Talking People
Well there are lots of moments in my life where people call me weirdo or “he doesn’t know how to talk” they are mostly my relatives parents & friends so that’s when i decided to work on my social skills and i just like you i searched on google to read articles, on you tube watched to videos but based on everyone’s life experience the techniques and principles are very different then each other am i a m a very slow & steady learner, hey hey I may be slow learner i spend time more time on fundamentals but once i caught the flow i am the fastest executor of what ever i have learned.
Only 2 Books
So after searching on web for a day i thought to buy a most famous book because i have watched the summary of it and people kind of talking very positively about the book so I thought to give it a try and its none other than Dale Carnegie’s Classic book How to win friends and influence people I read this book and i love it, To be honest i read this book four times yes its true first i liked it so much so i read it, second time i forgot the lessons so again i read it its very quick read and third time i was implementing the lessons with people and finding out the ways to communicate with them.
How I was learning??
Well whenever i was no matter where i am if i am traveling and if there is a chance to talk with some people mostly same genders i start the conversation by asking some questions according to the principle and situation so that i can also understand him and the person should feel good after talking with me. Basically to know that if this principle gonna work for me or not? if yes why and if no why? and when its gonna work for me? in which situation? should i use it?
I told you i am a technical and logical person so there is no chance that you can win on this one. okay, so now get back to the topic….
What I got??
So after talking with not so much around fifty people within two months I have found that even if an introvert like me read a book like this and take action on it and apply the principles i am sure that anyone can improve their communication skills and now i am able to communicate with everyone and i am sure ill find a way to exchange the numbers too because i have did it before so its easy for me but still talking with opposite genders needs improvement.
Wait there’s is only one book I have shared didn’t i so here’s another one…
The Missing Piece
So I told you that still I am unable to communicate with opposite genders you know why firstly because i am learning and secondly I am shy and lastly no one taught me how to because sometimes I talked with opposite genders like I am talking to male people, with male I am very comfortable but with female its a bit uncomfortable so this is the problem then again i watched another you tube video surfed one day on web and finally i found a very famous book which i liked it very much and I think this is the missing piece and it can really solve the problem and guess what it is the solution.
The Complete Guide
And this book is non other then Leil Lowndes world famous and new york times best selling author ‘How to talk to anyone” I really liked this book for only one reason which is clearly mentioned on the book cover ninety two little trick to kick start a conversation with anybody after applying this lessons (obviously not all of them only four or five) I have realized that if you want to improve your communication skills then you should go with these two books, you know why?
The Reason is Simple
Because one book will help you to keep the conversation going those who have read the Dale Carnegie’s classic book “How to win friends and influence people” they will understand this why i am saying this but before you get into the conversation flow you have to kick start that conversation first so that you can make a good first impression because as we all know that first impression is the last impression and if you are in a public place surrounded by many strangers then this book is a gem to make some new connections.
Final Thought
So yeah for now its clear that to kick start any conversation with anybody ill suggest you to go with the “How to talk to anyone by Leil Lowndes” and to keep the conversation going I will suggest you to go with the “How to win friends and influence people” and I believe if you just read these two books and apply the principles in real life with real people means strangers you can improve your communication skills over time.
Keep in Mind
And yes one more thing don’t expect the good results at the first glance it will take time you will be rejected, feel embarrassed and ignored at the first hand but its your job to find a way to make the conversation happen and make it memorable, because at the end its you who want to improve the communication skills.
